At a loss as to how to tame your multi-racial child's curls ? I've got the products for you

When my son turned one we took him for his first haircut at one of those speciality "kiddie cut" salons. Although, we opted to have the stylist shave his hair down she preserved a little curl and then added some product to enhance what little curl he did have left. Stepping back and looking at how adorable he was with his tiny tight curls I asked her what she'd just put in his hair.

It was at that time that I was introduced to the hair nectar of the Gods. Moist Curls.

I soon began using it on my daughter whose hair is incredibly curly and can be challenging.

I once read that curly hair is dry hair, my daughter is no exception. Moist curls keeps the dryness at bay, protects her curls from the elements , has a nice light fragrance and isn't heavy or greasy like other products I've tried. Seriously, I use it morning noon and night and of late have been pairing it with my second fave product from the Curly Qs line, Princess Glaze. Princess Glaze gives her that additional shine and hold and helps tremendously with the end of day frizzies that tend to creep up.

Curly Q's has a great product line that takes you from shampoo to style all made with natural ingredients and not tested on animals. We've tried them all (love, love, love the Coconut Dream conditioner) and honestly you can't go wrong with any of them.

And guess what ? I'd like to share their magnificence with all of you. Head on over there check out their products then come back and tell me your thoughts and you'll be entered to win your very own Curly Qs sample kit but be sure to enter by by September 12.

I have heard a lot about Curly Q's, but have never tried it. I really should, though, because especially in this August heat and humidity my hair goes crazy.

Hi, I have read good things about these products. My niece's hair is extremely thick and curly. Her mom has to use a special brush just to comb through it. I would love to win this sample kit for her. Please enter me in your drawing. Thanks, Cindi

I love it that it's not too heavy or greasy -- curly hair that's heavy isn't nice.. it's gotta be bouncy!

Thanks!

Is it ok if I'm uni-racial? My hair is insane. I've been looking everywhere and trying everything!

Biddy said...

i want to try it all ON MY OWN bi-racial hair! seriously! the "black" hair products are too much for my hair, but i've never really been able to find anything in the white-folk stuff that does just what i want it to do either.

Stacey said...

Raych-uni-racial, sure!

Biddy- That's the same problem I was having w/my daughter. You know they've got a product line for grown folk, right ?

How come I never heard about this before? My daughter has tight spiral curls that do frizz unless she puts something in it and she's always relied on a gel to do that and this sounds so much nicer! Her scalp is normal but the hair itself tends to be dry. She's biracial too and gets frustrated with those curls sometimes but wow, they're so beautiful and unique.

Anything that detangles would help Little Bear! The kids' Moist Curls Moisturizer/Detangler looks good. Her hair is crazy and she screams every day when I try to comb it out! (AngelNicki79@gmail.com)

My daughter has wild wavy hair. She needs something to control the mess. Maybe it would work for her. Maybe We'll try it to. Thanks!

You're absolutely right -- I didn't know I needed this stuff until you told me I did. Need the whole "It's A Curl!" line for my daughter.

I would love to have something different to use on my son's hair. I feel so bad that he is afraid of bathtime b/c that's when we comb his hair. DH says, "Well, we'll just have to cut it all off". DS is not even 2 yet and his hair is so cute the way it is; there is nothing wrong with it. We just need a better solution to his hair care needs. I want him to take pride in his hair...not be terrified of combs!

I've been trying to teach my niece how to care for her hair. It's very, very curly so of course, curl oriented products would be awesome for her. Her hair is really dry so I'd love to try Radiant Ringlets on it, to give it some lustre. Plus, I'm trying to help her go CO/CG so it's great that these products are sulfate free.

hmm, doesn't look like anyone is going to the website! 8-)
I love that they do not contain sulfates, that is the #1 ingredient that dries hair and skin out! I could really use there products! and testing them before wasting a whole bottle would be perfect!
thanks for sharing!

What I REALLY liked and will probably do, is order their sample packs! What a fabulous idea for folks looking for the perfect concoction! I just moved and threw away a whole drawer full of products that "failed" to help my type of curls. Still looking for that perfect product. Saved to my favs to check it out very, very soon!

I like the goddess glaze. Any curly girl has a mountain of products that don't work, would love to try this.

Sounds like my daughter could use this. She has very unruly hair that just get's bigger and bigger as I comb it. Plus she twirls it with her finger and caused knots. I love that the products are formulated with natural humectants, organic moisturizers, and curl enhancers

my oldest daughter's hair is thick and curly. I am of Mediterranean descent and have a mix of curly jet black wiry, course hair and finer, curly dark brown hair - the mixed texture and color is very odd. As I have aged it has thinned considerably but my daughter inherited the strange multi-colored, multi-textured hair. She would LOVE this.

mrs.mommyy said...

love the idea its not heavy on the hair- i have beyond thick and when I use some items I end up rewashing the hair to get the chemicals out

I love the site. My daughter's hair was all falling out due to medication she's on. Was stick straight, baby fine. Now...it's coming back in curly. I don't know what to do with it. I've always had stick straight, baby fine hair myself and mine "went wavy" about five years ago. If their products are as helpful as their site, wahoo! I especially liked that chart and the explanation. Whether I win or not, thanks for the hints.

Oh wow! I LOVE that sample kit. I'm saving the link because if I don't win, I still want to get it for my curly kids.

My daughter (age 11) and I love having curls in our hair. But, living by the Gulf of Mexico makes our weather almost always humid. Our curls "fall" as soon as we walk out the door. I think this is the product we have been searching for. I also love that it is made with organic products, even more points from my daughter and I. Thanks for the contest and congrats to the winner!!

Linda said...

Wow is all I gotta say!!
"Detangles the kinkiest curl in a snap" "organic ingredients" "provide all day curl definition and to protect against a curly girls worst nightmare, FRIZZ"

Perpetual ponytails, twists, puns, braids, etc . . . are the hairstyle of choice in my household because of humidity almost all year. This product sounds like it would liberate the girls in my home.

I have tried so many products for curly hair on my daughter but they are all so harsh and end up drying out her hair even more.

The Moist Curls Moisturizer sounds like a miracle in a bottle. With certified organic ingredients I'm not afraid to use it on my little girl. If it actually works we'll both cheer, her because there will be less pulling and me because we'll get out the door faster in the morning.

This stuff looks great! I have struggled and fought with my curls for as long as I can remember. I have made a hobby out of looking for new hair products, and I'll keep looking till I find THE ONE. Maybe this is it???

Not only am I ridiculously curly haired, but now my 3rd kid is too. I thought we escaped it and then BAM!! I have no idea how to handle a kid's hair. Mine? Barely, but I manage with gels and products that are probably no good for kids. Thanks for this tip!

I'd love to try the Moist curls leave-in detangler! I have such a hard time brushing my baby's curls that I usually don't even bother unless it has been freshly washed!

I struggle with my full course thick curly hair. I have tried everything from $100 bottles of so called miracle workers to the $1 ones. Nothing seems to help tame it other than some Marcel hot iron. But I hate to have that much heat to my hair. I would love to try this product out.
